WHY WE DO THIS.
I was born in Compton, raised in Los Angeles, and brought up in a Guatemalan household shaped by the sazón and fire of my Puerto Rican granddad.
Mi abuelo was full-blooded Boricua a Navy vet, a boxer, and a master in the kitchen. He taught me that food brings people together. That it should be seasoned with purpose, cooked with pride, and always served with love. He brought Puerto Rican flavor into our home, and that flavor shaped everything I am.
Over the years, I spent summers in Brazil learning how different cultures express love and resilience through food. Later, I completed a culinary program in Tucson, feeding thousands, sharpening my skills, and stepping into my purpose. But the real learning came at home listening, watching, absorbing the rituals of how my family fed people.
Humo Con Sazón is more than fire-grilled meats in a bag it’s the result of everything that made me who I am. Guatemalan heritage, Puerto Rican sazón, Brazilian smoke, and L.A. hustle. It’s the traditions that raised me, preserved, honored, and passed forward.
